If Not NOW? When?

I started to write about our potty training saga because it was humorous.  Then I hear the breaking news in the background; another school shooting, this time in my state.  The school is about (2) hours away from my home.

It feels like there is a shooting each week.  Many people seem to be desensitized to this issue. Each shooting makes me frightened to put my only child in the traditional school system.  I'm praying that I will have the opportunity to homeschool my #GingerSnap.

The news says that there are 2 victims.  That is incorrect because the shooter is also a victim. I can't imagine a policeman coming up to this Mother and having to tell her 'your son was the shooter and he is dead.'  While a young girl clings to life and another boy is in the hospital.

We as a nation need to have an OPEN dialogue regarding the gun issue. Everyone needs to work on this issue regardless of their political affiliations and beliefs. Our children need us for support and guidance…

Easy Spaghetti and Meatballs

I have been pretty busy with booking travel for some great families and helping with my uncle's recovery.
A month after Hurricane Maria my uncle fell into a diabetic coma for a few days.  When he awoke from the coma his balance was non-existent and he didn't even recognize us.  The doctor said that the test showed no stroke.  However, to the family and me it sure seemed like a mini-stroke.  The brain in a mystery organ and the doctors may be wrong.
It has been close to (4) months of intensive physical therapy. He is currently in a physical rehab facility doing great and his memory is back. Though he doesn't remember his (1) month hospital stay.  It's been a long (5) months for us.  Uncle is a huge blessing we enjoy him living with us.  There has been much prayer for his recovery.  We got word this week that he will be home in March.
Dinner preparation has been quite a challenge.  Yet my low cooker has come to my rescue many times.

Ginger Snap is 3

I can't believe my #GingerSnap is three today.

I looked at pictures of his birth and I felt sad because I loved the new baby days and his first year.
He isn't a toddler anymore he is a little boy who is fiercely independent

At his yearly physical, he is 38 inches tall and 35 lbs.
Every time he sees a birthday cake he says "It's my birthday party".
I made a 6-inch birthday cake. Yes, it's all lopsided but he didn't notice.
He got some great gifts (2) train sets. And a STEM toy from fisher price.

I'm In Love

I love my #GingerSnapToddler.
Today is #KissAGingerDay and I must say I took every opportunity to shower him with love.

I love when I tell him, I love him and he yells back "I love you too mama"

He runs up and says we need to big hug.   I just adore his hugs and cuddles.
At night he likes to hold my hand until he falls asleep. It is a bit much but there will come a day when he won't need me as much.

Until then I'm going to tell him I love him, hug him and kiss him all the time until he says to stop.  I pray that day NEVER comes.

Thank you, God, for my gift of my son.
