I learn something new everyday

Each morning I try to get some writing in and look at daily news sites (I barley watch TV, we have cable and TV in each bedroom because the hubby and I want to make guest(s) feel at home when they visit.)

I learned that Ms. Elizabeth Taylor, was born in the England and converted to Judaism in her 20's. All this time I thought she was born here in the U.S.

The link below will take you to an article written in England's Guardian News Paper.

The dates of 2011 are interesting

My sister-in-law sent this to me I found it interesting

This year we’re going to experience four unusual dates – 1/1/11, 1/11/11, 11/1/11, 11/11/11 and that’s not all.Take the last two digits of your year of birth-now add the age you will be this year, and the result will be111 for everyone ! This is the year of Money! This year October will have 5 Sundays, 5 Mondays and 5 Saturdays. This happens only once every 823 years. These particular years are known as ‘Moneybags’; the proverb goes that if you share this with eight good friends, money will appear in the next four days as is explained in Chinese feng-shui. It's worth a try.

Wondering Wednesday: With Deepest Respect

I got this e-mail from a Marine friend of mine:

I send this message with the deepest respect. This just made perfect sense to be shared.

Lindsay Lohan is 24 and her story is all over the news because she's a celebrity and a drug addict. Charlie Sheen is all over the news because he is a celebrity and has multiple issues.

Justin Allen 23,
Brett Linley 29,
Matthew Weikert 29,
Justus Bartett 27,
Dave Santos 21,
Jesse Reed 26,
Matthew Johnson 21,
Zachary Fisher 24,
Brandon King 23,
Christopher Goeke 23,
Sheldon Tate 27

Are all Marines that gave their lives this week for us. There is no media for them. Not even a mention of their names.
Honor Them, by sending this on!

Semper Fi, God Bless & AMEN.

Lazy Sunday

Hope everyone turned their clocks forward.

Can you believe Dan reminded me it's my Birthday! I am not sure what day it is most of the time. I keep asking Dan what day is it. I think it's driving him a bit crazy. These last (2) months in and out of the hospital have left me quite confused.

It's just a get lazy Sunday. Church late this afternoon and a free meal at Silver Diner. Silver Diner has a club card. Each time you eat at the diner you earn a point; after (5) points you get five dollars off your next meal.

On your birthday you get a free entree and a free desert. I'll keep ya'll posted about the rest of my day. I hope I get coffee served in bed though. =)

Also, thanks for all my birthday cards and birthday wishes.

Til next time

Charlie Sheen is Filing a Discrimination Case?

Damm my girlfriend DJ is right anyone can file a discrimination complaint. I should know this being an EEO Specialist. If people perceive him as disabled he can claim that as a basis for discrimination.

I have to look and see if being a drug addict classifies as a disability.

However, the burden of proof of discrimination falls solely on the individual claiming discrimination. The percentage of a finding of discrimination is less then 3%.

He is a total nightmare. No wonder Emilio never took the Sheen name.

Friday's Rant

I try very hard not to get to personal on my blog because of DoD concerns etc. However, can this damm country stop obsessing about Charlie Sheen and all these fake Hollywood actors, sports stars etc?
I hate the news I have been home for over 6 weeks recovering from major medical issues and all I hear and see when I’m not drugged up is Hollywood crap.

Well a Scotsman clad in kilt left a bar on evening fair
And one could tell by how we walked that he drunk more than his share
He fumbled round until he could no longer keep his feet
Then he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
He stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street

About that time two young and lovely girls just happend by
And one says to the other with a twinkle in her eye
See yon sleeping Scotsman so strong and handsome built
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt

They crept up on that sleeping Scotsman quiet as could be
Lifted up his kilt about an inch so they could see
And there beho…
