My GALLBLADDER Saga.

Yes, I promised myself I would write a blog entry once a day. BUT a Wednesday in early January Dan rushed me to hospital at 0600. I was having sharp chest pains, I couldn't take a full breathe and throwing up.

Turns out I have gall stones! Hundreds of them and 2 VERY LARGE ones. One is trapped in the cystic duct and the other in the common bile duct(CBD) I had three Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) done. Each time it was done it removed dozens of stones but the 2 biggies remain. They look like yellow diamonds in the photos. I have a stent put in running from my gallbladder I think straight to my stomach. I'm eating mainly soft foods.

I was hospitalized twice and my body was at war fighting a major infection. I was out of the office for almost month.

At the hospital I was told I had this problem for years. See I was right I didn't have acid reflux I have been misdiagnosed for the last 4 years.

I returned to work this week I didn't want to take more advance leave. I know it's stupid but I also have a new boss I never met. Believe me I'm taking it SLOW. I am doing very little compared with my usual work load.

When Dan returns from LA after his training with the Army at the end of the month I will have surgery and have my gallbladder removed. The surgery will try to be done endoscopically but there is a 2% chance that it could be done the tradition way with the 3-12 inch opening below the breast bone. Depending on what they see. To make it worse I have developed Mirizzi Syndrome I'm feeling tired but I don't have that horrible sharp pain that paralyzed me. I'm currently taking meds to try and break up some stones. I hope it works.

I want to thank EVERYONE who has called, e-mailed, sent cards and flowers. I have to return some of your calls this weekend. (I'm so exhaused when I get home)I sit on the couch and fall asleep.

On a lighter note:

How about those PACKERS! Erich and I were at the edge of the sofa and each time there was a TD we'd cheer and Boo would bark. =)

Erich is Dan's nephew who is in town for a radiology conference. You know how those radiologist party. Erich is enjoying staying at the house and I LOVE the human company. Erich wanted to cook meals and learn tech quines. We have made about 6 recipes. Three of them were for Super Bowl Sunday.

I also have to say I love OWN Oprah's network. That was a plus when I was at home. Netflicks is nice I never have to leave the house to get a movie.

My favorite show on OWN is the Gayle King Show, I DVer it. 10-11 weekdays. The other show I like is Oprah behind the sence on Friday nites.

Until tomorrow XOXO
