Dan's Home!

Oct 28, Sunday night: I’m in the office doing homework. Someone is trying to get in I hear keys jingling at the front door. Boo is barking,

“Katrina (my neighbor) is that you?” I yell.

“What’s wrong? You ok?” no answer.

“Katrina?”

Boo is still barking now runs into the office.

I’m freaking out. I get up I should lock me and Boo in office? Should I call Katrina, 911?

They are inside! foot steps, my heart is pounding, I peak, I see someone, but who?

“Hi”
Dan? Is that Dan?

Steps closer, I look out

“Hi”

“What are you doing here?”

“I live here.”

“What are you doing here?”

“I live here.”

“Again! What the hell are you doing here?”

“I resigned from my position.”

I close my eyes take in and release a deep breath.

“F*** you scared the sh** out of me.”

These scenarios in life can never be made up. At times life is far more interesting than a novel.

Now the hard beings: learning to be around each other again, dealing with everyday life. After more than two years and what felt like a trillion miles apart. This is stuff they leave out in happily ever after and war.

P.S. I’m sorry I haven’t kept up with my blog. I started school again and working. To say, I’m tired is an understatement. I’m relieved and very happy to give over the job of running this household back to Dan. The Honey to do List is a few pages. Welcome home Honey! ;)

  1. Welcome home, Dan... I'm sure that the "Honey-Do" list can wait until you give him a PROPER welcome home and not the "F*&$, you scared the sh!% out of me!"
